If you are eligible for RHW benefits when you retire, you may enroll in the Fund’s retiree health care coverage. You need to complete the enrollment form and Retiree Premium Authorization and return the forms to the Fund Office at the time of retirement. •If you decline both health and dental coverage. You will not be able to enroll until the third annual Open Enrollment following the date you declined coverage, with coverage effective the following January 1. For example, if you declined coverage when you retired on March 1, 2017, you cannot enroll until the Open Enrollment in late 2019 for coverage effective January 1, 2020.
•If you enroll in health coverage, but decline dental. You will not be able to enroll in dental until the second annual Open Enrollment after your retirement date, with coverage effective the following January 1. For example, if you declined dental coverage when you retired on March 1, 2017, you cannot enroll until the Open Enrollment in late 2018 for coverage effective January 1, 2019.
