The Southern California United Food & Commercial Workers Unions and Food Employers Joint Pension Trust Fund was established April 1, 1957. The Plan is designed to provide retirement benefits to eligible Participants. These pension benefits, together with Social Security benefits and personal savings, will help you enjoy your years of retirement. You are a Plan A-1 or Plan B-1 Employee if you were an Employee of an Employer between November 1, 2003 and February 29, 2004 and not covered by Appendix G of the Retail Food, Meat, Bakery, Candy and General Merchandise Agreement prior to March 1, 2004, were employed by an Employer after March 1, 2004 and did not have more than 120 consecutive days after November 1, 2003 during which you are not employed by an Employer.
You are a Plan A-2 or Plan B-2 Employee if (1.) you were first hired by an Employer on or after March 1, 2004, (2.) you were covered by Appendix G of the Retail Food, Meat, Bakery, Candy and General Merchandise Agreement on or after March 1, 2004, regardless of hire date, or (3.) you were hired by an Employer before March 1, 2004, but began a period of more than 120 consecutive days, after November 1, 2003, in which you were not employed by an Employer. In this case, you are a Plan A-2 Employee only with respect to your work for an Employer after your absence of 120 days or more.
